Some discussion of design pattern blog posts and Mach II copyright shifting to Peter Farrell's company :)

Core Files

Core Files (SAC):

  • documentation of new features about 25% complete
  • lots of churn still in the core files as Application.cfc support was added (desirable for XML-free apps)
  • plan to release another Alpha to fusebox5 Yahoo! list in August (8/15).
  • Public Beta will happen before MAX, possibly in late August / early September (9/30).

Scaffolding (KR):

  • was waiting for Peter Bell (PB) deliverable
  • will chase PB but fallback to KR design
  • Public Alpha of scaffolding by 9/15.

Web Site

Contributors' Guide (SLC):

  • will start work in August
  • deliver guide with information on Styles and HTML by 9/30.

Editor Tool (Adam Howitt - AH):

  • will send SLC tinyMCE code snippet by 8/3.

Forums / Server Move (Oguz Demirkapi - OD):

  • MS not sure of status
  • SAC will email OD / David Lakein - DL 7/27 to follow-up

Clickable Home Page Logo (SLC):

  • has solution designed
  • needs to modify every FarCry template to apply it
  • should be possible by 8/3. (implemented on 7/30 - SLC)

Email Forwarding / Server (OD):

  • See Forums / Server Move above (i.e., same status, same action)

Case Studies (AH):

  • needs reminder of second case study!
  • will talk to his team about first case study
  • no date set for action

Documentation (Patrick Quinn - PQ):

  • no update on documentation status
  • BK to ping Nat Papovich - NP directly about docs a.s.a.p.
  • SAC will follow-up with PQ by email today to confirm commitment to documentation project (to determine whether we need to draft a new volunteer)

Trac Wiki Reskin (SAC/SLC):

  • Simeon Bateman (host of SVN/trac servers) was evaluating moving servers and/or upgrading Trac which may affect reskin process
  • SAC to follow-up with Simeon by 8/3 (but see discussion below about moving documentation to FarCry)

Case Studies / Test Suites (KR):

  • KR is following up with Vodafone for permission to
    • use Vodafone as a case study
    • obtain access to Vodafone code as a test suite (under NDA, not to be released)
  • hopes to get agreement by 8/15.

Sample Apps / Test Suites (AH/MS):

  • SAC has contacted AH privately to discuss open source licensing which is a concern
  • MS to send out email request for large FB apps to use as test suites by 8/10.

Proofing Website (SLC/BK):

  • SLC/BK to discuss by 8/3. (Complete 7/31 - Brian will be heading up Editing, Sandy will be leading Website, will be working closely together - SLC).

Presentations (MS):

  • SAC to send SLC information about his FB remote presos 7/27.
  • SAC presenting FB55 to cfFrameworks online group 8/2.
  • SAC likely to present FB55 to Adogo user group (Orland, FL) at some point
  • MS to gather list of FB speakers with contact details by 8/10.
  • MS to ping Adobe UGM mailing list about:
    • possible FB speakers
    • possible UGs to present to

Articles (JP):

  • MS to follow-up with JP by 8/10.

Sample Apps (KR):

  • ongoing work to add old and new Fusebox sample apps to the website
  • BK/SLC - will download/test WeGotWidgets? on Fusebox 5.x by 9/30/07.
  • BK may have additional WGW versions.
  • BK to create SQL scripts for DB tables in WGW example by 8/10/07.
  • BK noted WGW link on site is broken - SLC promptly fixed it!
  • SAC to follow-up with Jared Rypka-Hauer - JRH about his Fusebox web client app by 8/3.

Marketing

Video Entry (AH):

  • AH to add to site by 7/14 (did this happen?)
  • Banners ("Fusebox Inside"), SEO, news release - AH will schedule meeting!

New Actions

Web site needs 404 handler and global error handler:

  • MS to talk to OD (by when?)

Documentation for Fusebox 3:

  • MS - ask Jeff Peters - JP about using FB3 book on website content by 8/3.

Presentations and Resources:

  • SLC gather list of Fusebox PPT from Google by 9/30
  • SLC will also search UGTV and frameworksconference.com
  • SAC will send SLC links to his podcast interviews on cfweekly and cfframeworks by 8/3.
  • (In progress. Draft pages with some PPTs, etc. are on Farcry. Will work over the next few weeks at adding information - SLC 7/31)

Mixed Version documentation:

  • SLC/SAC work on doc style for Fusebox 4+ with pullouts for differences between versions by 9/30.

Vision

Where should we be by the end of...

2007

  • Fusebox 5.5 should be released
  • More sample applications should be available
  • Move documentation from wiki to FarCry
  • Public pre-FB4 documentation
    • not sure there was ever FB3 docs on the website
    • SLC has published everything she could find - see Fusebox 3 section of the site

2008

  • Fusebox 5.6 / 5.7 releases
  • plan to have FB3 apps running on FB5.x core around this timeframe
